Tricord Homes unveiled plans today to make the dream of home ownership real for public servants. From October 20th to November 5th, Tricord Homes will host a special preview exclusively for teachers and county employees in a new section of our popular Wilderness Shores Community featuring 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath, 3 level garage townhomes from $205,900. “We believe that if you work for our community, you should be able to own a home here too,” said Mike Jones, a principal owner of Tricord. “Home ownership is the foundation to the creation of wealth which is why Tricord is committed to helping young professionals secure their financial future.”

The availability of affordable homes in our region has become a crisis. According to Spotsylvania County’s report entitled “Housing Demand Forecast Analysis” published recently, average household incomes from 2000 to 2005 increased only 4%. Home prices rose 126% over the same period – a rate 30 times faster than incomes. Entry level incomes of teachers and County
employees, ranging from $23,000 for a General Office Clerk position to just under $40,000 for a new Firefighter/Medic, are far below Spotsylvania’s 2005 median household income of $68,816.

“Over the past 19 years, Tricord Homes has demonstrated a proactive commitment to providing the opportunity of home ownership to those who serve us the most – our teachers and
County employees,” said Jim Curtiss, President of Tricord Homes. “They have invested in the future our children and our County and this our way of thanking them for their service.”

The exclusive offer contains incentives designed to help these customers purchase their home. No down payment is required and Tricord will pay closing costs. Working in partnership with C&F Mortgage, Tricord’s preferred lender, those with a household income as low as $33,000 could qualify to own a new home with a payment as low as $1,198 per month.
